Christians in Europe face 'persecution'

A hearing in parliament was told that Christians in Europe face "persecution" because of their beliefs.

The seminar on Tuesday heard that Europe's Christian community was also being "marginalised" and "sidelined" on account of their views on issues such as same-sex marriage and homosexuality.

Several speakers, including MEPs, said Christians in countries like the UK faced "increasing levels of intolerance" because they had "dared" to be critical of Islam and homosexuality.

EPP member Anna Zaborska went even further, saying Christians were being "persecuted for their beliefs".

She cited an example of "intolerance" the "difficulties" some workers have in wearing the Christian cross while at work.

COPS TO ANSWER IN COURT FOR 'STONING' OF CHRISTIANS

Lawsuit follows Michigan Muslim mob attack on believers

Hundreds of angry Muslims threw chunks of concrete and eggs at a team of Christians, spraying them with urine and cursing at them – all while police stood by and then threatened the victims with “disorderly conduct.”

Egypt? Saudi Arabia? Somalia?

No. Dearborn, Mich.

So now a team of attorneys from the American Freedom Law Center is going to court on behalf of the victims of the violent Muslim mob at the Arab International Festival last June, an attack that was captured on video.

The federal civil rights complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan names as defendants officials from the Wayne County sheriff’s office who “sided with the Muslim mob intent on suppressing the Christians’ speech.”

The complaint explains authorities not only failed to protect the Christians, they ordered them to leave the Arab Festival under threat of arrest for “disorderly conduct.”

However, not one Muslim was arrested for the attack that left several members of the Christian group bloodied, the complaint states.

DECAPITATIONS CALLED SOLUTION FOR CRITICISM OF ISLAM

Jihadi writer says heads should be displayed along roads

A jihadi writer who has praised the murderer of a Dutch filmmaker is offering a suggestion to cut down on the criticism of Islam around the globe: Behead the critics and post their heads along roads.

Oh, and post a sign that says, “This is the punishment of those who insult our prophet.”
The organization, which monitors Middle East media, said the comments were made by Muhib Ru’yat al-

Rahman, a senior writer of a leading jihadi forum called Shumoukh al-Islam.

He suggested that Muslims living in Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the U.S. kill Westerners who criticize Islam and display their decapitated heads along roads.

AIRLIFT TO RESCUE 2,000 BEHIND SHARIAH CURTAIN

Humanitarian effort reaches out to Christians trapped in Muslim territory

Michael Carl is a veteran journalist with overseas military experience and experience as a political consultant. He also has two Master's Degrees, is a bi-vocational pastor and lives with his family in the Northeast United States.More ↓

The human rights group Barnabas Aid is announcing plans to fly about 2,000 South Sudanese from Khartoum in Sudan to Juba, the capital of the recently formed South Sudan.

The plan is billed as a humanitarian effort to rescue the South Sudanese who are trapped in the predominantly Muslim country.
Barnabas Aid Director of International Relations Julian Dobbs says the project is going ahead even amid the military conflict on the border region.

“There continues to be considerable unrest along the border. That’s why this project has become necessary. We’re very aware obviously of the challenges that have come from the north,” Dobbs said.

“Christians have been impoverished and are extremely vulnerable. President Omar al-Bashir has made it clear that Christians are not welcome in Sudan. Frankly he’s repeatedly declared his intention to make the constitution of Sudan 100 percent Islamic,” Dobbs said.

Sharia: The long list of Christian children raped, killed by Muslims

Monday, August 27, 2012 11:01

The enemedia silence on this monstrous anti-human ideology is sanction. The enemedia is just as deadly as the jihadist clutching his rusty beheading knife in his cloven grip. It's not just that the little Christian girl with Down's Syndrome was beaten (along with her mother) for “blasphemy” under the sharia, or the 12-year-old Christian boy had his ears, nose and intestines gutted as part of the reprisal for an alleged act of blasphemy, it's that this is going on daily, the persecution of non-Muslims under the sharia in Muslim countries, and the media not only says nothing; they defame, smear, and destroy those of us who shine the light on these depraved acts in the cause of Islam.

The enemedia are the true monsters.

The Imploding and Very Liberal United Church of Canada.

18SaturdayAug 2012
Posted by marktooley in News

Canada’s largest Protestant church is also its fastest declining. In the mid 1960s the United Church of Canada had 1.1 million members and in 2010 had 490,000. Almost certainly it has lost thousands more since. It is also perhaps Canada’s and even North America’s most liberal denomination, specializing in environmentalism, Palestinian advocacy, and same sex marriage. One of its prominent ministers is a celebrated and outspoken atheist. Its former chief officer openly denied Christ’s deity. Its current outgoing moderator, an activist for “climate justice,” was unable to tell a reporter what doctrines were essential to the church. Juicy Ecumenism

Report Highlights Consistent Pattern of Hostility Toward Christians in US

By Paul Stanley , Christian Post Reporter
August 22, 2012

A new 140-page report released by the Family Research Council and Liberty Institute reveals a pattern of hostility toward Christians and Christianity in the U.S. The report was released earlier this week and includes over 600 incidents over a 10-year period.

The attacks range from rulings from the judiciary branch to an elementary school student who was physically lifted from his seat and reprimanded for praying before eating his lunch. Yet another example shows a Christian couple was fired as apartment complex managers and forced to move because a painting with a Christian reference was displayed in their office.

Other examples cited in the report include:

Copts in Upper Egypt Attacked, Beat, Plundered

By Coptic Solidarity

Published on Monday, 20 August 2012 14:32

Christian Copts in Upper Egypt are under attack, hours after a call for their eradication appeared in the form of leaflets calling on Muslims to kill Copts, specifically naming regions of Upper Egypt.

A report by Fady Talaat, for Al Akhbar News, published August 14, has the details. In Al Gallaweya Village, Sohag, Upper Egypt, Christians are being beaten, their stores destroyed, and their properties plundered. The attackers are declaring that “any Christian who dares to leave his house will be killed”; and the Copts are complaining that the police only arrive after the damage has been completely done.

Nageh Hozar, one of the attacked victims now lying in the hospital said that a known felon, who is also a fugitive living in the village, named Mo'tassem Sedky Rashwan, came to a supermarket owned by his brother Fady Hozar to buy cigarettes. He took the cigarettes and refused to pay for them. Instead, he asked Fady to pay him EGP 50 as “tribute.” When the latter refused they had a dispute. The criminal, then, left and came back with his thug brothers, cousins and friends. Zaki explained that the whole gang started beating him up along with his brothers Thomas and Fady Hozar and others, using sticks and canes, leaving them dangerously injured.

ARAB SPRING RUN AMOK: 'BROTHERHOOD' STARTS CRUCIFIXIONS

Opponents of Egypt's Muslim president executed 'naked on trees'

The Arab Spring takeover of Egypt by the Muslim Brotherhood has run amok, with reports from several different media agencies that the radical Muslims have begun crucifying opponents of newly installed President Mohammed Morsi.

Middle East media confirm that during a recent rampage, Muslim Brotherhood operatives “crucified those opposing Egyptian President Muhammad Morsi naked on trees in front of the presidential palace while abusing others.”

Raymond Ibrahim, a fellow with the Middle East Forum and the Investigative Project on Terrorism, said the crucifixions are the product of who the Middle Eastern media call “partisans.”

“Arabic media call them ‘supporters,’ ‘followers’ and ‘partisans’ of the Muslim Brotherhood,” Ibraham said.
Ibrahim also says the victims can be anyone, including Egyptian Christians.

8/13/2012
Dear brothers and sisters:

Peace in the Lord! On this past Sunday, we held the thirty-first outdoor worship service of this year. It was a hot and humid day, with showers in the early morning. As far as we know, on Sunday morning, besides the sister who was taken to be detained at a hotel on Friday, at least twenty-six  believers were taken away from locations near the platform for attending the outdoor service. They were then sent to four different local police stations. Six believers were released by noon, and the other twenty-one believers were released one after another by 20:00pm on Sunday.

Obama Administration refuses to call Terrorist Group a Terrorist Group

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Worthy News)-- As the number of murders by a militant Islamic group in Nigeria continue to grow, some Congressmen are questioning the Obama administrations refusal to officially designate it as a terrorist organization.

Boko Haram, which translates as Western education is sinful, wants to create an Islamist state ruled by shar'ia; to that end, the group unleashed a series of deadly bombings against Nigerian churches last Christmas that killed and maimed many defenseless parishioners.

Muslim Persecution of Christians: June, 2012 "[Egypt's] Muslim Brotherhood prevented the Copts, at gunpoint, from voting"

July 26, 2012

Saudi Arabia officially bans all religions other than Islam.

U.S.-backed rebels are committing Christian genocide in Syria, where they are sacking churches and issuing threats that all Christians will be cleansed from rebel-held territory. A mass exodus of thousands of Christians is taking place, even as mainstream Western reporters, such as Robert Fisk, demonize these same Christians for being supportive of the secular regime.

The bloody jihad waged against Nigeria's Christians, which has seen hundreds killed this year alone, now includes plans to kill Christians with poisoned food, as part of the Islamic organization Boko Haram's stated goal of purging Nigeria of all Christian presence.

During Egypt's presidential elections, Al Ahram reported that "the Muslim Brotherhood blockaded entire streets; prevented Copts, at gunpoint, from voting and threatened Christian families not to let their children go out and vote" for the secular candidate.

A legislation that opens the door to transgender ordination passed its final hurdle on Monday and was approved by leaders in The Episcopal Church. The measure passed both the House of Bishops and the House of Deputies.

The Episcopal General Convention voted to amend church laws to state: "No one shall be denied rights, status or access to an equal place in the life, worship, and governance of this Church because of race, color, ethnic origin, national origin, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, disabilities or age."

Nigerian Muslims Burn 50 Christians Alive After Trapping Them In Pastor’s Home…

Abuja: At least 115 people, including a federal senator and a state parliamentarian, have been killed in central Nigeria in the last two days with herdsmen from the Fulani tribe besieging and raiding Christian villages near conflict-prone Jos city, prompting violent clashes.

Those killed today were attending the funeral of 63 other people killed earlier yesterday in Karkuruk village in Barkin Ladi local government area when the assailants returned to kill more people with guns and machetes.

Chairman of Barkain Ladi Local Government Emmanuel Lomang, and member representing Barakin Ladi/Riyom in the House of Representatives Simon Mwadkom, narrowly escaped death today.

Mwadkom was wounded and lying unconscious in the hospital at Barakin Ladi General Hospital.
After the attack on funeral attendees, some 50 bodies were also discovered burnt in the house of a pastor of the Church of Christ in Nigeria (COCIN) in Matse village in Riyom Local Government Area of the state.

The discovery of the bodies brought the total number of deaths since yesterday to 115 including that of the lawmakers.

Details of how the lawmakers were killed is still sketchy but villagers said gunmen descended from the hills at Matse as they were conducting the burial and closed in on them.

Tunisia: Muslims tape murder of Christian convert

Thursday, June 14, 2012

By Joseph DeCaro, Worthy News Correspondent

CAIRO, EGYPT (Worthy News)– Talk show host Tawfiq Okasha recently appeared on "Egypt Today" by showing a video of Muslims beheading a man for the Islamic crime of apostasy: the "crime" of converting to Christianity and then refusing to renounce that conversion.

In the video, the convert is held down with a knife to his throat by masked men while an unknown narrator recites Islamic prayers that condemn Christianity, a religion Islam considers polytheistic because of its Triune Godhead.

"Let Allah be avenged on the polytheist apostate," said the narrator in Arabic. "Allah empower your religion, make it victorious against the polytheists …"

These vindictive prayers are not uncommon in Islam; similar prayers are broadcast in Mecca over megaphones as Muslim pilgrims circle the Ka'ba, petitioning Allah to make the lives of Christians and Jews one of "endless despair, unrelenting pain and unremitting ailment."

Finally, at the cue of "Allahu Akbar," the man with the knife begins to cut the apostate's thoat: it takes nearly two minutes to finally sever his head, which is then held high to chants of victory as Okasha asks: "Is this Islam?

Recently a leading Egyptian Salafi proclaimed that no Muslim has the right to leave his religion because of Muhammad's command to kill anyone who does; in fact, the first caliph had thousands of apostates killed by burning, beheading, and crucifixion because they tried to abandon Islam after the death of its prophet. Even today, apostasy in Islamic states is still a capital crime.

So yes, Okasha, this is indeed Islam!

COURT: CHRISTIANS CAN BE ORDERED TO VIOLATE BELIEFS

A ruling from Judge Tim L. Garcia in the New Mexico Court of Appeals says states can require Christians to violate their faith in order to do business, affirming a penalty of nearly $7,000 for a photographer who refused to take pictures at a lesbian “commitment” ceremony in the state where same-sex “marriage” was illegal.

Judges Cynthia Fry and James Wechsler joined in the ruling by Garcia, which involved Elane Photography, whose owners, Elaine and Jonathan Huegeunin, are Christians and declined to do photography for lesbians Vanessa Willock and another woman.

Court Rulings Mirror Fears, Hopes in Egyptian Vote

Death sentence upheld for Muslim, but in another trial, shocking bias persists.
CAIRO, Egypt, May 30 (CDN) — In the lead-up to the country’s first democratic presidential election, a court ruling confirmed fears that justice will continue to elude the Christian minority in post-revolutionary Egypt, while another verdict offered some hope.

On May 21 a judge sentenced 12 Coptic Christians to life in prison for their alleged part in a riot in Abu-Qurgas village, in Minya Province, that left two Muslims and one Christian dead. Eight Muslims charged with the same crimes in the same riot were all acquitted.

IRAN: DISCOVERY WILL COLLAPSE CHRISTIANITY

CUA Editor’s note: MORE EVIDENCE OF END TIMES PROPHECY

Says Turkish 'Bible' has Barnabas forecasting Muhammad's coming

By Reza Kahlili
Iran’s Basij Press is claiming that a version of the Gospel of Barnabas, found in 2000, will prove that Islam is the final and righteous religion and the revelation will cause the collapse worldwide of Christianity.

Turkey confiscated a leather-bound text, written on animal hide, in an anti-smuggling operation in 2000. Turkish authorities believe the text could be an authentic version of the Gospel of Barnabas, one of Jesus’ apostles and an associate of the apostle Paul.

This version of the Barnabas Gospel was written in the 5th or 6th century and it predicted the coming of the Prophet Mohammad and the religion of Islam, the Basij Press claims.

The Christian world, it says, denies the existence of such a gospel.

However, religious scholars have said another version of the Barnabas Gospel, discovered a century ago, was written less than 500 years ago, which would post-date Mohammad.

Federal Court Rules N.Y. Town’s Prayers Too Christian

Written by  Dave Bohon

A federal appeals court has ruled that the prayers opening the monthly government meetings in Greece, New York, over the past 10 years have been too Christian. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit found that Greece’s policy of opening monthly meetings with an invocation violated the First Amendment’s supposed separation of church and state because the prayers have been almost exclusively offered by representatives of the Christian faith.

“The town’s desire to mark the solemnity of its proceedings with a prayer is understandable,” wrote Judge Guido Calabresi for the three-judge panel. “Americans have done just that for more than two hundred years. But when one creed dominates others — regardless of a town’s intentions — constitutional concerns come to the fore.”

From 1999 to 2007 every monthly government meeting in Greece was opened with a Christian invocation. But in 2007 two city residents, Susan Galloway and Linda Stephens, complained about the trend, prompting the town to invite a Wiccan priest, a Baha’i representative, and a Jewish man to offer the prayers. Nonetheless, at eight of the 12 meetings Christians offered the invocation.

The Religious Battle of Vanderbilt

Booting Christian groups from campus—all in the name of 'nondiscrimination.'

Last week, Tennessee legislators sent a message to Vanderbilt University: Religious liberty matters. Large majorities in both houses passed a bill to prohibit the school from interfering in the ability of student groups to select their own leaders and members, define their own doctrines and resolve their own disputes—or Vanderbilt risks losing $24 million in state funding.

The legislation follows Vanderbilt's decision to stop recognizing campus religious organizations that require their leaders to accept certain religious beliefs on which they are founded. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Vanderbilt Catholic, Navigators and other groups—ministering to about 1,500 students—would effectively be moved off campus in the name of "nondiscrimination."

Man declared insane, sent to mental hospital for faith in Christ

Middle East/North Africa (MNN) ― The Pioneers and Arab World Ministries Web site, Maarifa.org, was created to present the Good News of the Gospel to young Arab Muslims, answering seekers' questions about Jesus and faith in Him, discipling new believers in their own environment, and encouraging them to find fellowship with others.

It's a wonderful way for people in the Arab world to explore Christ and do it safely. But those who come to the Lord as a result are not guaranteed smooth sailing.
Mohammed, a North African, called some Pioneers missionaries while he was in Saudi Arabia. He connected with them after visiting the Maarifa Web site. He had been possessed by demons for a long time, despite the many attempts of Muslim scholars to cast the demons out.

Central Java: Islamic extremists attack sanctuary of the Virgin Mary, repelled by police

by Mathias Hariyadi

For safety reasons, authorities suspend a function in program for yesterday. However, the place of worship, highly popular among faithful and pilgrims, will remain open. Attackers claim building does not have proper permit. The Archbishop of Semarang calls for calm: do not respond to provocation.

Jakarta (AsiaNews) - Tensions remain high in central Java, where a crowd of a thousand Islamic extremists have targeted a shrine to the Virgin Mary: For security reasons, yesterday the authorities suspended the programmed church service, while dozens of policemen and soldiers guarding the place of Christian worship, fearing further - possible - violence. According to the protesters, incited by Muslim extremists, the building has no building permit required by law (the infamous IMB) and, over time, from "simple house of prayer" it has become a real church. The faithful respond that "in more than 40 years" there has never been an incident of sectarian nature.

SEOUL, South Korea -- April 15 is known in North Korea as the "Day of the Sun" in honor of late President Kim Il Sung's 100th birthday.

It's one of the most important dates in recent history for the communist nation.

The 'Eternal President'

Even though he died in 1994, Kim is called the "Eternal President" and is worshipped like a god.

Dressed in their finest, thousands will travel to the capital city of Pyongyang Sunday from across North Korea. They'll march up to the giant statue of Kim and on cue, bow.

Suspected Maoist Rebels Kill Indian Pastor

April 13, 2012

NEW DELHI, INDIA (Worthy News)– A 35-year-old church pastor was murdered in India's southeastern Andhra Pradesh state by suspected Maoist rebels who slit his throat, police and Indian rights activists confirmed Thursday, April 12.

"A few minutes later, the masked man came back to Dumbu’s house and informed Janaki that the Maoists killed the pastor reportedly for his irregularities in the maintenance of church."

The man allegedly also tried to abuse the pastor's wife and fled with money.

Huffington Post Promotes ‘Queer Christ’

By Paul Wilson | April  2012

Those who adhere to the gospel of liberal sexuality fall into two different camps when they discuss Jesus. Religious feminists argue that Jesus Christ had a relationship with Mary Magdalene. Religious homosexuals, on the other hand, portray Christ as gay, as the Huffington Post’s Kittredge Cherry did in a piece titled “Queer Christ Arises to Liberate and Heal.”

Cherry, herself a lesbian writing in the HuffPost Gay Voices section, launched her piece with a provocative and ridiculous claim: “Visions of a queer Christ are on the rise as Easter approaches this year – because the conventional Jesus is no longer enough.” The article supplemented that ‘vision” with a depiction of Jesus on the cross with the word “faggot” at the top, instead of “INRI,” like it appears in the Bible.

Youcef Still Alive Despite False Execution Rumors

By
Anna SekulowFiled in:
IRAN1:46 PMMar. 26, 2012

The ACLJ has received confirmation that Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani is alive in Iran as of today, March 26, 2012.

New false reports about Pastor Youcef’s execution continue to surface – whether these reports originate from a misinformation campaign initiated by the Iranian regime or just uninformed sources is unknown.

Many of these false reports stem from an inaccurate image being circulated on various blogs and social media sites of an Iranian man of Pastor Youcef’s age standing bound in front of a gallows surrounded by two armed, masked Iranian guards. The image is not of Pastor Youcef and has been circulating since at least July 2011.

Muslim Leader Calls for Destruction of all Christian Churches in Arabian Peninsula and Obama and the World Remain Silent

What do you think would happen if a prominent Christian leader called for the destruction of every Muslim mosque in the United States?
Not only would every Muslim throughout the world protest in anger, but many world leaders would join them, including President Barack HUSSEIN Obama.  Muslims would react with death threats against that Christian leader and probably his family also.

But what would happen if a prominent Muslim leader called for the destruction of every Christian church on the Arabian Peninsula?

Absolutely nothing!

Israel and the Plight of Mideast Christians

Just as Jews were once expelled from Arab lands, Christians are now being forced from countries they have long inhabited.

The church in Bethlehem had survived more than 1,000 years, through wars and conquests, but its future now seemed in jeopardy. Spray-painted all over its ancient stone walls were the Arabic letters for Hamas. The year was 1994 and the city was about to pass from Israeli to Palestinian control. I was meeting with the church's clergy as an Israeli government adviser on inter-religious affairs. They were despondent but too frightened to file a complaint. The same Hamas thugs who had desecrated their sanctuary were liable to take their lives.

BBC says it's okay to mock Christians

International (MNN) ― There has been a perceived bias against Christians in the media in the western world, but now it's more than perceived. According to the Christian Institute in the United Kingdom, the head of the BBC, Mark Thompson, says the company would never mock Mohammed like it mocks Jesus.

He admitted the religious bias suggesting that mocking Mohammed might have the "emotional force" of "grotesque child pornography." But he claims Jesus is fair game because Christianity has broad shoulders and fewer ties to ethnicity.

THE CHURCH OF SEX

Exclusive: David Kupelian challenges Pastor Mark Driscoll about his 'obsession'

Warning: The following column contains sexually explicit language.

There’s a new form of Christianity sweeping the U.S. Its main focus: sex.
Don’t be surprised. We already have a Christian denomination catering to every other worldview, comfort zone and obsession, so why not sex? As I said in “The Marketing of Evil”:
“No matter what kind of person you are, a form of Christianity has evolved just for you. There’s a politically liberal Christianity and a politically conservative Christianity. There’s an acutely activist Christianity and an utterly apolitical Christianity, a Christianity that holds up a high standard of ethical behavior and service, and a Christianity for which both personal ethics and good works are irrelevant. There’s a raucous, intensely emotional Christianity drenched in high-voltage music, and there’s a quiet, contemplative Christianity. There’s a loving Christianity and a hateful, racist Christianity, a Christianity that honors Jews as God’s chosen people and a Christianity that maligns Jews as Satan’s children.”
